Cream or serum?

TOPIC: Hydration

The difference between a cream and a serum consists mainly in the percentage of fat mass present inside, which is higher in the cream than in a serum. The cream is therefore richer and more nutritious, while the serum is lighter.

However, the serum is much more concentrated than the cream and has a more immediate effect as it penetrates deeper into the epidermis.

Cream and serum can work together to have a greater effect. You can combine the serum and cream suitable for your skin type.

How to choose the right products?

Young skin is still toned and supple, which is why it is still too early to use too nutritious products. Better to opt for a fluid gel: a light moisturizer that does not grease the skin.

From the age of 25/30 it is good to start using a moisturizing eye contour cream to prevent wrinkles and reduce dryness of the skin around the eyes.

If your facial skin also tends to be dry it is better to prefer a cream: more moisturizer and nourishing than a gel or a serum.

If, on the other hand, we have oily skin but we want to deeply hydrate our skin, it is better to prefer a face serum rather than a cream, which is certainly lighter.

For more mature skin, a highly intense hydration with anti-aging factor is recommended. The skin needs to be deeply moisturized, so it is good to prefer a suitable cream: if the skin is dry, hyaluronic acid will be our ally. Collagen is also a good option to prevent and reduce the signs of ageing, as it is the responsible molecule for the elasticity of our skin.

For a greater effect, the face cream should be combined with a facial serum.

Beauty information:

The skin over the years undergoes a progressive slowdown in the turnover of its constituent cells. Collagen production decreases and elasticity is lost.

This is why it is important to use the right products for your skin type and age.

Choosing products that are too nourishing for our still young skin, thinking they will prevent aging, will not have the desired effect: what happens is that skin that is over-nourished, over time gets used to this external treatment and will tend to reduce its cellular activity. Not only that, but over the years the skin will demand more, and richer creams will be needed to compensate the premature aging we are witnessing.

This is why it is essential to proceed with gradual moisturization that is appropriate for our skin type.
